A variation column lets you automatically calculate the difference between two numeric columns in a report. It's especially useful for comparing values like actual amounts vs. forecast, or any other pair of metrics you want to contrast directly in Embat — no exports or manual calculations needed.
- Open the report you want to add the column to.
- Click Add column (or the "+" icon in the table header).
- Select the Variation column type.
- Choose Column A (e.g. Actual amount).
- Choose Column B (e.g. Forecast).
- The new column will automatically display the result of Column A – Column B.
- Name the column if you'd like and save your changes.
You can add as many variation columns as you need to the same report to compare different pairs of values.
