The cash flow module displays the behaviour of active and archived bank products and shows how their addition or archival impacts balances and projections. This allows you to analyse the evolution of your balances accurately and maintain full traceability of historical information.
Archive or delete bank products
There are two ways to remove a bank product from balances in Embat: archive it or delete it.
- Archiving a product keeps all its historical information visible in the corresponding periods. Past balances and cash evolution continue to reflect each period’s reality, preserving the accuracy of historical analysis.
- Deleting a product removes it completely from the system. No trace or historical record is retained; it disappears entirely from balances and from the product breakdown.
Impact on balances: Balance adjustment row
Each time a bank product is added or archived, the cash flow table shows a Balance adjustment row located just above the End-of-period balance row. Without this row, after adding or archiving a bank product, there would be a mismatch between the opening balance, the cash flows, and the closing balance, since the change in the balance would not be represented within the cash flow movements.
- A positive amount is shown when a new product is added (increase in total balance).
- A negative amount is shown when a product is archived (corresponding outflow adjustment).
If the product is added with an initial balance of 0, no adjustment is shown in this row because there is no variation in the total balance.
To keep reporting as accurate as possible and avoid a one-off spike in the period when a product is added, it is recommended to import all available historical transactions when creating the product. This distributes its impact organically across previous periods.
Product-level balance breakdown
In the product-level balance breakdown, archived products appear under the Archived products section within the corresponding bank. This preserves historical coherence and clearly differentiates active from archived products.
Deleted products do not appear anywhere, as no trace of them is retained in the system.
