If you need to add transactions to one of your bank products, especially manual products, you can do so directly from Embat.
To manually add transactions, follow the steps below:
1. Access the bank product
- Log in to your Embat account.
- Go to the Banking connections module from the side menu.
- Find the product where you want to add transactions.
- Hover over the product and click on Add manual transactions.
- On the next screen, you’ll be able to include the bank transactions you wish to add. You can copy them from your bank statement in Excel and paste them into Embat, or enter them manually.
2. Enter the transactions
On the following screen, you can either paste transactions from Excel (following the column format) or enter them manually.
It’s important to fill in all fields in the table. Otherwise, transactions with incomplete cells will be ignored.
3. Validation and matching
Once the transactions have been pasted or entered, click Validate transactions for Embat to review them automatically.
During validation, the system will detect whether there are already existing transactions within the same period and apply different rules depending on their status.
Possible scenarios:
| Status of existing transactions | What happens during validation |
|---|---|
| No transactions in that period | They are added without any issues. |
| Unreconciled or unposted transactions exist | They are overwritten by default. You can tick the checkbox to avoid overwriting. |
| Reconciled or posted transactions exist | They will not be overwritten. The new ones will be added alongside the existing ones. Duplicates cannot be checked. |
In the last case (when there are reconciled or posted transactions), the system will display an additional warning and ask for manual confirmation before saving. It’s essential to carefully review the content to avoid errors or duplicate entries in your accounting.
4. Confirmation and saving
Before saving, a summary will be shown with:
- The bank and product.
- The detected period (from the earliest to the latest date).
- The number of valid transactions.
Click Add transactions to complete the process. Once finished, a message will confirm how many transactions have been added, and to which bank and product.
